A New Design (27).png

Jason Bethel embodies the essence of a true worshipper, using his musical talents is just a means to move the heart of God and draw believers closer to the presence of the Lord. As a songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader, Jason's passion for Gospel music is evident in every note he composes and sings. Leading the Gospel ensemble, J. Bethel & Spoken For, Jason made a significant impact on the Gospel music scene with their debut project, "All In," released in 2014. The group, which Jason describes as "innovative, energetic, and God-driven," features a talented lineup of singers, including Zshawntanique V. Starks, Angela Davis, Philip Pettigrew, LaToya Nakima Williams, Jasmine Elon Suggs, Eva Robinson, Zshaquira Boyd, and Gregory Slack. Together, they create a harmonious blend of voices, delivering Jason's spiritually inspired songs with unmatched fervor and authenticity. Their performances have seen them opening for renowned Gospel artists like Jekalyn Carr, Marvin Sapp, and many others, establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Gospel music industry.

Jason's journey into music seemed predestined, shaped by his early exposure to a rich musical heritage. Growing up, he was mentored by his father, a pastor and songwriter, and influenced by his uncle, a musician with the legendary Parliament Funkadelic. His formative years were further enriched by the guidance of prominent Detroit musicians such as Marvin McQuitty, Ester Smith, and Michael Mindingall. By the age of 12, Jason had already taken on the role of music director at his church, and by 14, he was serving as the church pianist. His ability to craft original songs was evident from the tender age of 10, as he and his father collaborated to expand the church's musical repertoire with their original compositions.

Despite his deep-rooted love for Gospel music, Jason pursued higher education in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Tiffin University. His passion for music, however, never waned. At Tiffin, he played a pivotal role in establishing the school's first Gospel choir and performed with the ensemble "Up In The Air," sharing stages with luminaries like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jennifer Holliday, and Take 6. Since graduating, Jason has carved out a distinguished career in Gospel music, working with esteemed artists such as Rance Allen, Tasha Page-Lockhart, Kierra "Kiki" Sheard, Lowell Pye, Lisa Page-Brooks, Darius Twyman, and his father, Pastor Gregory Bethel. Jason Bethel's journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft and his mission to use music as a means to uplift and inspire.
